English - welcome to Animal Protection Bergen

Animal Protection Bergen is the oldest, independent animal protection organisation in Norway (established 1862).

We are located in Bergen, the second largest city in Norway.  Our main objective is to rescue, rehabilitate and re-home animals in distress.  We mostly work with cats, but help birds and other small animals too.

We are a voluntary organisation and do not receive any regular state funding, but with help from our volunteers and donations from the public, we operate our cat rescue centre.  The centre accommodates between 30 - 60 cats at any given time.  We also run a number of cat feeding stations for wild, stray cats and through our network of foster homes, help animals in need of special attention.

Our English pages are not intended to give a complete translation of our Norwegian site, but to give you an overview of what we do, how you can contact us and more importantly, how you can help us.

On the left-hand side of our homepage you will find the links to the English pages.  Just click on one of the links that appear when pointing the cursor at the English menu option.

We thank you for visiting our website and hope you find it informative!
